The Aliro core CMS in tar.gz format. Apart from the core administrator functionality, this package includes the new Jim Galley admin template, and the basic modules for a semantic markup menu and for custom content. These will be installed automatically.
In addition to all the standard features of Aliro, this release introduces an easy upgrade facility. For any Aliro site, you can create and have mailed to you a manifest that describes exactly what core software is installed. The manifest can be used at http://upgrade.aliro.org to obtain an upgrade package that will bring whatever was present to the latest level. Further details are included in http://guru-forum.net. The same facility can be used to bring the core software of any Aliro site into line with any other, so you can maintain a group of sites at the same level. This approach has been preferred over fully automatic software distribution because of its greater flexibility and its lower vulnerability to crackers.
